Bed Bug Safety Tips When Visiting Family and Friends
It's always nice to visit family and friends. Good company, good food – good times! But, there's a visitor you don't want – bed bugs.
They're just about everywhere now, including the homes of people you visit. Here are some good suggestions on avoiding them tactfully
Bedbug tips when visiting:
- Make sure you encase all your suitcases with anti-bed bug liners, any size suitcase gives bed bugs a free ride, so protect them all, big and small, carry-on or checked!
- You may want to bring your anti-bed bug travel size pillow for the car, taxi, bus, plane or train, because we all know that public places are the most popular for picking up bed bugs.
- Whether visiting friends, family, hostels or hotels, it is strongly advised that you pack your anti-bed bug encasements, yes, all of them, pillow, mattress and box spring protectors. You don’t know what comes in and out of peoples houses, even if you are related to them. Hotels are just as guilty of having bed bug problems. So don’t be a helpless victim, be in control of the situation and come prepared!
- One thing in life is definitely a certainty…laundry. Make sure you bring your anti-bedbug laundry bag with you. Don’t give those blood suckers an excuse or a place to get you!
- Need to rest your feet? Try not to sit on or around beds. Chairs with metal legs are a good idea as they are hard for bed bugs to climb up.
